Itinerary
Day 1: Shimla to Sangla (230 km / 8–9 hrs)
Start from Shimla early in the morning and drive via Narkanda and Rampur to reach Sangla, one of the most beautiful valleys in Himachal. En route, enjoy the beauty of Sutlej River and apple orchards. Check in to your hotel or riverside camp. Overnight stay in Sangla.
Day 2: Sangla & Chitkul Exploration
Explore Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border. Spend time at the riverside, walk through the village, and enjoy majestic views of the Baspa Valley. Later return to Sangla and visit Kamru Fort. Overnight stay in Sangla.
Day 3: Sangla to Kalpa (40 km / 2 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Kalpa, known for its panoramic views of Kinner Kailash peaks. En route, stop at Reckong Peo. Explore Kalpa village, Roghi Cliff, and enjoy a peaceful sunset over snow-capped peaks. Overnight stay in Kalpa.
Day 4: Kalpa to Nako to Tabo (190 km / 7–8 hrs)
Depart early and proceed to Nako village, known for its beautiful lake and monastery. Later, cross into Spiti Valley and reach Tabo, home to the ancient Tabo Monastery (built in 996 AD). Explore the village and surrounding landscape. Overnight stay in Tabo.
Day 5: Tabo to Dhankar to Kaza (50 km / 3–4 hrs)
After breakfast, visit Dhankar Monastery, perched dramatically on a cliff. Later continue to Kaza, the administrative capital of Spiti. Relax and acclimatize to the high altitude. Visit Kaza Market and enjoy the evening in the valley. Overnight stay in Kaza.
Day 6: Kaza – Langza, Hikkim, Komic, Kibber, Key Monastery
Spend the day exploring high-altitude villages:

Langza: known for fossils and giant Buddha statue

Hikkim: home to the world’s highest post office

Komic: one of the highest motorable villages in the world

Key Monastery: the largest monastery in Spiti

Kibber: a scenic village with snow leopard territory
Return to Kaza for overnight stay.
Day 7: Kaza to Chandratal Lake (100 km / 6–7 hrs)
Drive via Kunzum Pass (4,590m) to reach the magical Chandratal Lake, known as the “Moon Lake.” Enjoy the surreal landscape and peaceful atmosphere. Watch the sunset at the lake and stargaze at night. Overnight stay in camps near Chandratal.
Day 8: Chandratal to Manali (120 km / 6–7 hrs)
After breakfast, depart for Manali via Batal, Chatru, and Atal Tunnel (or Rohtang Pass if open). This route offers rugged mountain beauty and waterfalls. Arrive in Manali by evening. Check in to hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Manali.
Day 9: Manali to Delhi (Optional local sightseeing)
After breakfast, explore local Manali if time permits: Hadimba Temple, Manu Temple, and Mall Road. Later, begin the return journey to Delhi by cab or overnight Volvo.
