Adventure Overview
The Nag Tibba Trek, often called the “Serpent’s Peak Trek,” is a perfect short Himalayan adventure for nature lovers and beginners alike. Starting from Dehradun, this two-day journey takes you through scenic mountain roads to Pantwari, the base village. From here, the trail winds through dense oak and rhododendron forests, charming hamlets, and meadows until you reach the Kathian Campsite, where you’ll witness a magical sunset and spend the night under a starry sky. The highlight of the trek is the climb to Nag Tibba’s summit at 3,020 meters, which rewards you with panoramic views of some of the most famous Himalayan peaks including Bandarpoonch, Kedarnath, Swargarohini, and the Gangotri ranges. With its combination of natural beauty, cultural encounters, and thrilling adventure, the Nag Tibba trek offers the ideal weekend getaway for those looking to experience the grandeur of the Himalayas in a short duration.
Itinerary
Day 1: Dehradun – Pantwari (1,400 m) – Kathian Campsite (2,265 m)
Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Pantwari village, the starting point of the Nag Tibba trek. After a short briefing, start your trek through charming mountain trails, dense forests, and traditional Garhwali villages. The gradual ascent leads you to the Kathian Campsite, surrounded by oak and rhododendron trees. On arrival, settle into your tents and enjoy the mesmerizing sunset views over the mountains. Spend the evening around a warm campfire, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in the campsite under a starry sky.
Day 2: Kathian Campsite – Nag Tibba Top (3,020 m) – Pantwari – Dehradun
Wake up early to a beautiful Himalayan morning and begin the trek towards Nag Tibba summit. The trail passes through thick forests and opens up to breathtaking 360° views of the snow-clad peaks like Bandarpoonch, Kedarnath, Swargarohini, and the Gangotri ranges. After spending some time at the summit, descend back to Kathian Campsite, pack up, and trek down to Pantwari. From here, board your vehicle for a drive back to Dehradun, marking the end of your adventurous Nag Tibba trekking experience
Inclusions / Exclusions
Inclusion:
- Transport support from and to Dehradun: starting from pickup on day 1 to drop on day 2.
- Guide, Cook and Other Support Staff
- Tented accommodation throughout the trek
- Forest Permits
- All Meals from Day 1 Lunch to Day 2 Lunch
Exclusion:
- Any expenses incurred on anything beyond the above inclusions, such as tips, accommodation in Dehradun etc.
- Personal luggage with mass not exceeding 12 kg per bag per person can be carried by porters/mules @ Rs 350 per day per bag.
- GST and TCS as per government applicable
